Steigenberger Inselhotel, Konstanz

Staying in the renovated 4th-floor rooms direct under the roof with a great view of Lake Constance was a unique experience. The room seemed tired and has certainly seen better days, but I appreciated the large size with a living room area. The service was a mix of experiences, with some positives like helping with parking when the car park was full but also instances of rudeness during breakfast and lack of attention. The location, right on the lakeside in Konstanz, was the highlight of my stay, making it easy to explore the area by boat. The dining experience was exceptional, especially enjoying lunch in the fantastic autumn sunshine. Facilities were decent overall.

Arriving at the hotel, our room seemed a bit tired and has certainly seen better days, but the updated bathroom and wardrobe were fine. The location was excellent with easy access to the station, harbor, and old town as well as private access to the lake. The dining experience was absolutely amazing, offering top-class meals that made us dine there every evening.

The hotel rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely equipped, with a large walk-in wardrobe and a sliding door to the bathroom. I wished there were organic food options at breakfast. The service was welcoming and helpful, although some staff members were a little rude at times. The location was beautiful, especially with outdoor seating by the lake, although a mini makeover would brighten it up. The dining experience was exceptional with superb views on the waterfront. Overall, a lovely stay for those who appreciate charm and character.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were enjoyable with a small but pleasant balcony overlooking the lake, albeit a bit busy with red and blue colors. The view of the lake was amazing, and the design was comfortable with a nice walk-in cabinet. However, the atmosphere was not as tranquil as I had hoped.

The location was a strong point, being beautiful with good spacious rooms and providing easy access to various tourist spots and the nearby Christmas markets. However, the dining experience, set in a spacious hall with clever acoustics but feeling crowded and not top-class, was a bit disappointing. Overall, the hotel offered both positives and areas for improvement.
